This raku-fired ceramic pot depicts challenges I face in sowing the seeds of the gospel among the children in my CEF after-school Bible Club at Terrace Elementary School in Richardson. Just as the birds steal the seed from the hard-packed path, our enemy steals the Word before it can take root in some children. Other children trample on the seed by not listening to, or valuing, the good news, and show no fear of God. Around the pot’s base, thorns choke out seeds that penetrate the soil, representing children who show promise, but eventually turn away from Christ.
